A visionary teacher and co-founder of Clear Sky Retreat Center, Catherine Pawasarat’s journey is a rare blend of deep immersion and modern innovation. Her path began in the 1990s as a photojournalist covering human rights, the environment, and sustainable development in Japan and the Brazilian Amazon, where she lived and practiced the ayahuasca sacrament in community.
While living in Kyoto for two decades, Catherine Sensei entered a rigorous, daily spiritual apprenticeship with Buddhist teacher Achariya Qapel—a 27-year mentorship that remains rare in the modern West.
