The cognitive capacity for “vision-logic” is known to emerge near the dawn of second-tier development. The term, coined by Wilber, not only denotes the well-known “vision” to hold multiple perspectives relatively; it is the cognition which “not just represents the Kosmos but is a performance of the Kosmos” (Wilber). As essential as this view is to second-tier cognition, practical methods of teaching individuals to exercise their blooming capacities of vision-logic are few.

The Integral Warrior Game is one such second-tier modality. Perhaps best described as an advanced awareness practice in perspective taking, the game has practical applications for working through conflicts of many sorts.   It would serve well, for example, in couple’s arguments, social justice debates, or even for intrapersonal shadow work.

In this experiential workshop, we will be introduced to using “attentional templates” as a way to play the IWG as well as introduce other applications and ramifications of developing our vision-logic capacities.
